Ages 9 - 14

This program focuses on the development of sports skills, physical literacy, fitness, nutritional, and mental skills of healthy athletes in a safe non-competitive environment. Our goal is to create athletes that will be active for life in a fun atmosphere.

Each program is a maximum of 6 weeks and is held at the Westmount Fitness Centre (12840-109 Ave NW).  There are many flexible options depending on the athlete's interests. Choose mornings, afternoons or both.  Add in some day camps and the athlete will be well on their way to developing active healthy habits for life.

Morning programs: 7:00 - 8:15 am

In this program, athletes will be increasing their stamina, strength and flexibility in a way that is fun while encouraging good habits and proper techniques. Throughout the course of this program, individuals will improve their physical attributes and ability to learn and participate in sport.

Afternoon programs: 3:45 - 5:45 pm

3:45 - 4:15 - The first half hour begins inside our facility, where the importance of time management and punctuality is highlighted. During this time, athletes are encouraged to use their time to complete homework, socialize with friends, and have a snack and hydrate. Coaches  may help athletes with homework if needed, or assist them in any way necessary.

4:15 - 4:30 The coaches will bring all athletes together and give a short lesson on the different aspects of athletic development, and how we properly use our bodies in an athletic setting. Topics such as nutrition, hydration, recovery, fair play, sportsmanship, and mental preparation will be addressed every day. The athletes will then move outside or to a gym area to begin learning important sports skills for the program they have registered for.

4:30 - 5:30 The active part of the Athletic Development sessions will always start with a warm-up and end with a cool down, which will teach the athletes static and dynamic stretches which help prevent injuries. Coaches will use a play based model where fundamental movement skills will be correlated to the skills and techniques of each sport.

At 5:30 all of the athletes will be back in the indoor common room where they may decide to play a game of foosball, play some ping pong, or just socialize with friends.

Sports Camps: Christmas Break ,Spring Break and PD days - 8:00am - 5:00pm

Just like our summer sports camps these weeks are programmed with a balance of sports, games, activities, and free play time. We guarantee an abundance of sports which may include (but are not limited to) basketball, soccer, ball hockey, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, dodgeball, handball, and wildball. The athlete will be kept active, introduced to many sports, and have a bundle of fun.
